ABOUT FOREMAN
My name is Al Foreman, Jr. It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you. I have approximately eight-plus years of experience in education. For four years, my engagement in instruction combined in the following roles: literacy tutor, classroom aide, after-school program coordinator and site administrator, instructional aide, and several long-term substitute teacher assignments.
In addition, I have been privileged to assume the role of teacher of record for four years, one year as a 2nd grade teacher and 3 years as middle school humanities teacher covering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. The catalyst for my current availability is my present interest in transitioning from a current role as an Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies for Sacramento-area community colleges, which I've held for over two years.
I am a confident, student-invested and battle-tested educator. And, I am qualified for the role of building our next generation of scholars.
The diversity of my many students is evident and exemplified in the many campuses and communities that I have been a part of in Northern California; supporting and/or facilitating instruction in primary and secondary education across West Contra Costa County (Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany, and Pinole), both East and West Oakland, as well as the Mission District of San Francisco, and in the SF Bay Area Peninsula region (Redwood City, Atherton, San Carlos, and San Mateo), and most recently instructing primary and higher education courses in Sacramento and Elk Grove.
To conclude, I am most definitively a father of four children and this responsibility has reinforced my love of learning, my appreciation for the minds and abilities of youth, and utilization of patience in life and in work.
Education is my purpose, and the theme of said purpose is unequivocally that education is the foundation for life.
